Our story
We made church software that feels like coming home
Roost began with a simple frustration: the tools churches rely on are powerful but cold, capable but exhausting. We thought the software a church family lives in all week should feel warm, clear, and human. So we built it.
What a roost is
A roost is where the flock gathers, comes home, and finds rest.
It is the place a church family lands and stays connected, not just on Sunday morning but all week long. That is the feeling we want every screen to carry: you belong here, and you can set the weight down.
Our rooster is the herald who greets the new day and calls everyone together. Proud but warm, never combative. He shows up to welcome people, point the way, and celebrate the wins.
What we believe
Gather, belong, rest
Gather
People, groups, and events belong in one friendly place, where the whole picture is easy to see.
Belong
Everyone has a home here, from the newest guest to the lead pastor. The software should make people feel known.
Rest
Clear, calm tools take weight off your team, so they can spend their energy on people, not on wrestling a database.
How we build
Six principles behind every screen
These are not slogans. They are the rules we hold each feature to before it ships.
Fast by default
Search reaches everything from anywhere, and the things you do most are two clicks away. Software should keep up with a busy Sunday, not slow it down.
A home screen for each job
A senior pastor, a kids volunteer, a group leader, and a finance admin each land on a screen built for them. Nobody should have to learn a tool meant for someone else's job.
Power, gently disclosed
Simple tasks stay simple. The advanced settings are one layer deeper, ready when you need them and out of the way when you do not.
Mobile is not an afterthought
Your people live on their phones, and so do your volunteers. The app does the real work, not a watered-down slice of it.
Workflows people actually use
Follow-up should not depend on someone remembering. Visual pipelines with reminders mean nobody falls through the cracks.
Built on trust
Giving amounts, care notes, and children's information are handled with care, gated by role, and logged. Trust is the foundation everything else rests on.
How we talk
Plainspoken, warm, encouraging
We talk like a friendly neighbor, never a sales rep or a theologian. Clear words, short sentences, no jargon.
We say
“Welcome home. Let's get your church set up in a few minutes.”
“Nice work. Your first group is ready.”
“Nothing here yet. When it is, you will see it land here.”
We avoid
“Leverage our robust congregation engagement engine.”
“Onboarding workflow successfully provisioned.”
“No records found in the current data view.”
Who it is for
Built for mid-to-large and multi-site churches
Roost is designed for the churches that have outgrown spreadsheets and feel boxed in by older platforms, with single-site churches a first-class fit, not an afterthought. Whatever your size, the goal is the same: gather your people, help them belong, and give your team some rest.
Welcome home, all week long.
